About Green Frog Systems

Pushing Solar Technology Further

At Green Frog Systems, we’re focused on making solar lighting tougher, smarter, and easier to use. Since 2011, we’ve been helping communities, businesses, and governments move away from grid power with lighting built to handle the harshest conditions.

Our Vision

We believe clean energy should reach every corner of the world, without being tied to the grid. Our team in Australia and the UK is constantly refining solar technology to make it more efficient, reliable, and practical. We design our systems to get the most out of every bit of energy, keeping things simple without cutting corners.

What We Do

  • Tough, Reliable Solar Lighting – Designed for the real world, from the heat of the Australian outback to storms in Florida and freezing conditions in Alaska.
  • Easy Installation – Our plug-and-play systems are made for quick setup, so they can be installed almost anywhere without specialist skills.
  • Smarter Solar Technology – We focus on efficiency, using the latest technology to make sure our systems are as effective as possible.

A Global Presence

We work with governments, businesses, and organisations in more than 15 countries, delivering solar lighting that works where it’s needed. Our reputation is built on quality, innovation, and a no-nonsense approach to engineering.

Lighting the Future

Our Journey So far

1

2011

Green Frog Systems was founded by David Wilson, focusing on the design of solar powered street lights.
2

2012

Secured the first major contract for the installation of over 100 solar street lights in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
3

2014

Successfully completed the design and manufacturing of the Stealth, an all-in-one solar light that went on to win multiple awards.
4

2015

Developed a modular solar technology platform specifically for use in bus shelters, providing an under-shelter lighting solution.
5

2017

Expanded research and development efforts to design the Aspire lighting technology and integrate Smart Asset Management (SAM) Internet of Things (IoT) technology into its solutions.
6

2018

Opened a USA office and obtained UL certification for products, allowing for distribution in the USA and Canadian regions.
7

2019

Saw continued growth in sales, driven by the success of the Aspire lighting technology, which became the first solar fixture in the market to offer cat V class lighting.
8

2020

Won the Lux Awards Europe’s Exterior Luminaire of the Year and received approval from the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting for the Stealth light product.
9

2021

Launched the Defender 55 into the United Kingdom market, which became the only solar light in the world designed to operate with a highly limited solar charge.
10

2022

Completed one of the largest solar street lighting rollouts in Australia, covering over 7km for the Northern Territory Government.
11

2023

Designed and released the AeromaX modular lighting range, which has already achieved significant sales in the United States.
12

2024

Focused on developing a new artificial intelligence (AI) solar scope and AI controller, incorporating advanced weather prediction algorithms to improve lighting efficiency.
