ampere hour meter

Home / glossary / ampere hour meter

Ampere hour meter:An ampere hour meter is a device used to measure the amount of electric current flowing through a circuit over a period of time, typically in hours or days. It is usually calibrated in amperes per hour (A/h). The most common type of ampere hour meter is the electromechanical induction type, which uses the principle of Faraday’s law of induction to generate a voltage proportional to the current flowing through the circuit. Other types of meters include electronic meters that use solid-state components to measure current and calculate elapsed time, and optical meters that use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to measure current flow.
