Edison screw:The Edison screw is a type of electrical connector used to connect two or more electrical wires or cables. It was invented by Thomas Edison in 1879 and is named after him. The screw consists of a metal rod with a threaded portion that screws into a matching threaded hole in the connector. The other end of the connector has a slot for the wire to be inserted into. The screw secures the wire in place and makes a good electrical connection.
