Equinox:An equinox is an astronomical event that happens twice a year when the sun is exactly above the equator and day and night are of equal length. The word “equinox” comes from the Latin for “equal night”. The March equinox happens around 21 March and marks the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, while the September equinox happens around 23 September and marks the start of autumn.
