Home / glossary / internal quantum efficiency (internal QE or IQE)

Internal quantum efficiency (internal QE or IQE) is a measure of the percentage of photons that are absorbed by a material and generate an electron-hole pair. The internal QE is usually greater than the external QE, which is the percentage of photons that are absorbed and generate a photocurrent.
