Minority carrier:In semiconductor physics, a minority carrier is an excess carrier type that carries a net negative charge. Minority carriers are generated when there is an imbalance in the number of carriers of each type present in a material. The term “minority carrier” usually refers to electrons in n-type semiconductors and holes in p-type semiconductors.
