parallel connection

Home / glossary / parallel connection

Parallel connection:In electrical engineering, a parallel connection is an arrangement of components (usually resistors) so that each component has the same voltage across it but different currents through it. The components are connected so that the current through each one is proportional to its resistance. This type of connection is often used in electronic circuits because it allows each component to carry only the amount of current it needs, without being affected by other components in the circuit.
