A photovoltaic array, also known as a PV array, is a set of interconnected solar cells that convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. A single solar cell can generate only a small amount of power, so PV arrays are used to increase the amount of power that can be generated from a given amount of sunlight.PV arrays can be used to power everything from small electronic devices to entire buildings. They are often used in conjunction with backup batteries or generators, in case the sun is not shining when power is needed.
